This amazingly creative homage to the original JURASSIC PARK movie moves so fast and is so funny that you dare not look away to take a note, sip from your drink, or share a laugh with your plus one. It took a minute or three for the audience to absorb exactly what was happening and how Jay Dunn and Natalie Rich were bringing the movie to life again. But the laughs soon began to roll as “Jeff Goldblum” and “Laura Dern” came into recognition as characters. By the time the first raptors showed up, we were totally engaged.
So, what we have here are two extremely talented mimics in black using small costume changes, a wild variety of props including dinosaur butts, and brilliant foley work by Kelly Robinson sitting on stage right to walk through the first JURASSIC adventure. Having seen this same crew do the same thing with the LORD OF THE RINGS opener in Ouray at the Wright Opera House this summer, I was familiar with the style but amazed at the creativity. It was so much fun watching these guys do their magic. By the time the retelling was finished, we were all willing to stay in our seats to watch THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK.
THE Galleria has the reputation of bringing and creating the best of the best humorous theatrical offerings to this space. This is another. It’s unorthodox, wildly creative, screamingly funny with tour de force performances by all three players.
You’ll be so sorry if you miss this one. Denver will be talking about this for years to come. Can’t wait to see what movie they will do next!
A WOW factor of 8.75!
